2023 Forest River XLR Nitro 384 in Baird, TX
The 384 is one of our favorite floorplans for the 2023 Forest River XLR Nitro. It offers that ideal bend of quality, price, practicality, and toy hauling goodness. Between the eight available floorplans for the XLR Nitro fifth-wheel trailer, the 384 falls right in the middle.
Every XLR Nitro is 102 inches wide and 13 feet 4 inches tall. The 384 has 20-foot awnings, the largest available, and an overall length of 44 feet 7 inches, so it’s just shy of rivaling the longest model. It’s also one of the heaviest: it comes in at 14,849 pounds and can hold an additional 6,151 pounds, meaning you’ll need a full-size heavy-duty truck to tow it.
Every XLR Nitro also has a 102-gallon fresh water tank, while the 384 has an 80-gallon gray water tank and 50-gallon black water tank. These large tanks will ensure your camping trips can go on for a long time without needing to restock and visit a dumping station.
Ultimate toy hauling garage
Forest River has been in the toy hauler business for a long time with an ongoing legacy of Sport Utility Trailer production. It builds the XLR Nitro at an exclusive toy hauler facility where the highest demands for quality can be met. The built-in garage features a 30-gallon fuel station, generator prep, and up to 5,000-pounds of cargo tie-downs, giving you all the basics to spend a weekend having fun with off-road vehicles.
The garage also has an insulated floor, weatherproof insulated ramp door, black night shades, a retractable queen-size bed, and retractable sofa/dinette to ensure that when you’re not hauling toys, you can still comfortably use the space at day and night.
Fully appointed interior
Every Forest River XLR Nitro features a fully appointed interior with all of the accommodations you need to take your camping to the next level. That starts with a stunning kitchen that oozes quality with its full extension four-sided craftsman drawers, Congoleum™ stain-resistant flooring, solid surface countertops, LED accent lighting, and stainless steel basin sink. That’s on top of residential-grade appliances including a microwave and 20-cubic-foot refrigerator.
The living area is just as nice with its first-class theater seating, electric fireplace, and dimmable lights. In the bedroom, a king-size bed, spacious ward, and accent wall provide the cozy comfort you need after a long day outdoors. A shower/tub combo is attached to the master bedroom and feels surprisingly spacious and luxurious with a large skylight and Metropolitan Grey countertops.
Forest River prides itself for the high-quality construction of its recreational vehicles, including the XLR Nitro 384. The RV uses Dexter EZ-Lube® axles and a MORyde CRE3000 suspension enhancement to provide stability and durability while on the go and at the camping site. Electric rear stabilizer jacks also make it easy to ensure the 384 remains level, enhancing your comfort while reducing uneven wear and tear on the RV. The Forest River toy hauler has a singular roof membrane with a 12-year warranty, vacuum-bonded aluminum-framed sidewalls, a fully enclosed “body-armor” underbelly with a radiant foil layer, and 15,000-BTU ducted air conditioning distribution system. What all of this means is that even during the hottest months of the camping season, the XLR Nitro is capable of keeping you cool and comfortable while protecting its most critical components from the heat.
