Unsurprisingly, one of its top attractions is the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum since much of Midland’s growth has the oil boom to thank. This fun museum teaches you and the whole family about 230 million years of history.
Of course, oil is not interesting to everyone. For those more culturally inclined, there are always live performances at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center, and those who love nature and animals will certainly enjoy spotting bobcats and hawks at the I-20 Wildlife Preserve. Other cool activities include visiting George W. Bush’s childhood home and checking out the planes at the American Airpower Heritage Museum.
